Officer's Estate Goes After Motorcycle Manufacturers and Trainers

The estate of a Hilliard  Ohio polofficpolice officer killed in a crash during motorcycle training in 2016 is going after two motorcycle manufacturers and their trainers in court.

The administrator for the estate of Sean Johnson accuses Victory Police Motorcycles LLC and its director of sales, Michael Schultz, and Polaris Industries, Inc., and its trainer, Timothy Klenk, of negligence that resulted in Johnson’s fatal motorcycle crash during a training run on May 19, 2016.

The suit accuses those named of “having the (police) trainees undertake dangerous maneuvers for which they were untrained, ill-prepared, and unable to perform and committing other negligent acts during the training of the class participants.”

The suit seeks unspecified money damages, alleging wrongful death, pain and suffering, legal fees and funeral expenses. It notes Johnson left two children, a mother, sister, and brother.
