Baby injured After KC motorcycle officer fires weapon at vehicle
Police say a Kansas City motorcycle officer was not seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle that immediately fled the scene. According to the report, the officer first encountered the vehicle when he attempted a routine traffic stop, but the occupants did not stop, and th officer did not pursue the vehicle at that time. A few hours later the officer spotted the vehicle and its occupants struck the officer's motorcycle while trying to get away. The officer said he feared for his life and fired several shots into the vehicle. Police say the vehicle also struck another police officer while fleeing the scene. When officer found the vehicle abandoned a short time later, they discovere two infants in the vehicle and one of them was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injury to the foot. Police have arrested one person they say was involved or driving the vehicle.
