THANK GOODNESS FOR DUMB CROOKS

Des Peres MO Prosecutors say a pair of idiot step-brothers have been arrested and charged with using Craigs List to steal motorcycles.  After using the internet site to find potential victims with motorcycles for sale,  and after agreeing to meet at an area mall, the pair commit the crime by diverting the owner's attention and fleeing with the stolen bike.

Police detectives say the pair, while responsible for three thefts in one week, are not sophisticated in their methods. Detective Trent Koppel says, “These two are not rocket scientists.” the suspects used their own cell phone to set up the sale disclosing their own cell phone number. Detectives used that information to find them. Then later Boesing and his step-brother allegedly texted the victim, taunting him, telling him he’d never get the motorcycle back. In effect, cops said they admitted to the crime.

COOL PRODUCT FROM THE BIKER NATION

Next we have weird ride from Fremont New Hampshire.   Dave and Debbie Doucette never thought their dinner ride this past May would include a winged passenger but that’s exactly what happened when a owl crashed into the couple around dusk as they were returning home.  The brief encounter left the couple emotionally shaken up a bit but fortunately that was the extent of the damage.  The owl also escaped with little more than a few ruffled feathers.

Have you borrowed money from this bank?  The Civil Rights division of the U.S. Dept. of Justice has filed suit against Chicago Illinois based Evergreen Bank for what it claims is a pattern of discriminating against minorities who applied and received loans from them for motorcycle purchases.  Government prosecutors say Evergreen’s policies and practices allowed dealers to mark up interest rates on motorcycle loans in a hidden manner and not based on the borrower’s credit-worthiness or other objective criteria related to borrower risk.  The average victim was obligated to pay over $200 more during the term of their loan than non-minorities.   *UPDATE.  Evergreen has settled with the Justice Dept
